I’ve talked about starting this blog COUNTLESS times over dinners with my friends (thanks for being my sounding board!), and now I’ve decided to take the plunge and make this a reality.
The tagline of Vino and Vivre is “Living life to the fullest—one cocktail and bite at a time”, and this is really how I strive to live my life. My goal is to not only inspire people to get interested in cooking, food and adventure, but also to serve as a reminder to myself to really live in the moment and enjoy life.
Two disclaimers for the blog:
1) I am not a foodie.
It’s not that there’s anything wrong with being a foodie, but I also think it’s a term that has gotten overused in the last few years.
Do I enjoy eating and trying new restaurants and cuisines? Absolutely. Do I think I have an elevated palate or sense of taste? I don’t know about that—I’m certainly not trained in this area, but I know what I like and I look forward to sharing that with all of you.
2) I am no master chef.
I am not the best cook around, but I can whip up some pretty decent dishes from time to time! I consider my style of cooking as trial and error. Sometimes there is an emphasis on the errors, but I enjoy the activity of cooking nonetheless.
I don’t believe cooking needs to be intimidating, and that’s usually the first hurdle people need to get over in order to get started. I am learning everyday and will make sure to share what works—and what doesn’t!
